Bless This House - The Book - Now Available

Well, it's finally done! Nicole and Laura have produced the first printed copies of Bless This House. The full color book is now available for purchase. You can buy it at 23 Sandy Gallery or order your copy online here.

Proceeds from sales will provide copies of this book to the featured residents with any additional funds going to The Community Housing Fund, a non-profit organization that supports affordable housing options in Washington County.

In the summer of 2006, nearly 250 families received notice that their three adjoining mobile home parks in Beaverton, Oregon would be closed and demolished to make way for redevelopment. For two years, photographer Laura Russell and writer Nicole Bowmer documented the stories of this community as lives were uprooted. Bless This House is a collection of landscape and portrait photographs, combined with the personal stories of the residents to create a revealing account of a community on the brink of extinction.

Bless This House, the book will be published by the Bless This House Project in March of 2009. Check back again for news of the book and the project.
